This page explains how BankMitraBC researches, writes and updates its guides, so you can judge how far to rely on them.
Primary sources first
Facts that change, such as fees, limits, exchange-rate markups, tax thresholds, visa rules and which banks accept an ITIN, come from the organisation that sets them. That means government and regulator pages (IRS, CFPB, FDIC, USCIS, Federal Reserve, Reserve Bank of India), the banking and credit reporting agencies (ChexSystems, Early Warning Services, the three credit bureaus) and the banks’ and providers’ own terms. News articles and other blogs are used only to find leads, never as the final source.
“Checked on” dates
Each guide shows when its facts were last checked. Where a rule is new or unclear, we say so instead of guessing.
No invented experience
We do not claim to have opened accounts, sent transfers or tested products unless we actually did, and we do not invent reviews, statistics or people. Comparisons and “best” lists are research-based: products are judged on their published fees, requirements and terms, and each list explains how products were chosen and who each one is not for.
How articles are written
Guides are researched and drafted by the BankMitraBC Editorial Team with the help of AI writing tools. Before publishing, every guide is checked against its sources for accuracy, completeness and clarity. We would rather publish fewer guides than unchecked ones.
Independence
No bank, provider or advertiser can pay for a recommendation, a ranking or a review. Some links may earn us a commission (see the affiliate disclosure). A product without an affiliate program can still be our top pick, and a paying one can be left out.
Not personal advice
Our guides explain how rules and products work. They are not personal financial, tax, legal or immigration advice. Where your situation matters, for example with tax on money sent to India or with your visa status, we say when to ask a qualified professional.
Corrections and updates
If you find an error, email contact@bankmitrabc.com with the page address. We check every report, correct confirmed mistakes promptly and update the “checked on” date. Guides are also reviewed when the rules they describe change.
